Terms of Service
Last updated: April 5, 2026
These Terms govern use of Vox website and software distribution. Please read them before using the product.
Acceptance
By accessing the Vox website, downloading Vox, or using related services, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the website or software.
Software and License
Vox is distributed as open-source software under the MIT License. Use, modification, and redistribution of the source code are governed by the MIT License as published in the project repository.
These Terms apply to our website, release distribution workflow, branding, and related online services. The Vox name, logo, and branding are trademarks of Vox and are not covered by the MIT License.
Local Permissions and User Responsibility
Vox can interact with files, apps, and system features when you grant permissions. You are responsible for deciding what the app can access.
The app requests Accessibility, Mail, Screen Recording, and Microphone permissions on macOS. These permissions enable tool execution, email integration, screen capture, and voice input respectively. All processing occurs locally on your device.
You are also responsible for prompts, actions, and outputs generated using Vox, including reviewing results before relying on them. AI outputs may contain errors and should not be treated as authoritative.
External Services and Integrations
Vox may integrate with third-party tools you choose to connect (for example MCP servers, channel adapters for WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, or Slack, and external APIs). Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Binary downloads may be served through third-party infrastructure such as GitHub Releases. Model files are downloaded from HuggingFace.
Error Monitoring
The Vox desktop application uses Sentry for error monitoring. Sanitized error reports may be transmitted when unhandled errors occur. These reports do not contain conversation content, file contents, or personal data. You may disable error monitoring by setting the SENTRY_DISABLED environment variable. The website does not use Sentry or any error monitoring service.
Acceptable Use
- No unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent use.
- No attempts to compromise security or service availability.
- No use that violates privacy or intellectual property rights.
- No malware distribution, spam, or harmful automation.
No Warranty
Vox is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific outcomes, or error-free operation. AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate and should be verified independently.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vox is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or business opportunity arising from use of Vox.
